About
A note on practice
Lineage & Training
Trained in the Vinyasa, Hatha and Yin traditions — with Andrea Durant, Shiva Rea, Meghan Currie and Kino McGregor — and creator of the YinYang Flow approach.
Cicely is a highly focused yoga teacher, having accumulated masses of elite-level yoga training with internationally renowned yogis, in programmes across the world.
She initially trained with Andrea Durant (BWY foundation, 2007), then travelled to India Yoga Viya Gurukal (Yoga teacher training, 2008). She qualified as a Senior Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance Professional UK, 2017). She has had the opportunity and honour to experience training with Shiva Rea, Meghan Currie, and Kino McGregor, and again Andrea Durant. Cicely is now a qualified 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainer with Yoga Alliance Professional UK, which she will be offering in the future. These experiences have accumulated as an expression of her personal teaching style.
Cicely has created the YinYang Flow approach based on Vinyasa Flow, Hatha & Yin Yoga. Yin Yang Flow is based on energetic pathways described in traditional Chinese medicine, to harmonise and balance the Chi in our bodies.
Cicely passionately guides student practice (she stresses this is crucial), moving the student to a deeper awareness of the body and developing their flexibility, through the healing of touch and hands-on assistance. Cicely has more than 20 years’ experience as a holistic therapist, applying a multitude of massage styles, including Thai Yoga massage, which has led to her healing approach through yoga.
“I truly care for my students’ well-being, and spiritual growth. I wish to move students towards health, happiness and peace with a holistic Yin Yang Flow approach.”
Her teaching is inspirational, creative and heartfelt, helping students to strengthen their body and mind, and open their spiritual growth. She expresses this style through her classes, personal one-on-one sessions, and workshops in Exeter, and the yoga retreats that she organises across Italy with her sister Bon Chan.
“Finding joy in simplicity. Deep connection with yoga, living in harmony with nature. These are the greatest gifts in life.”
