Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual discipline for developing strength, awareness, character, and consciousness.
Practitioners call Kundalini yoga the yoga of awareness because it focuses primarily on practices that expand sensory awareness and intuition in order to raise individual consciousness and merge it with the Infinite consciousness of God. Considered an advanced form of yoga and meditation, its purpose is to cultivate the creative spiritual potential of a human to uphold values, speak truth, and focus on the compassion and consciousness needed to serve and heal others.
Kundalini Yoga exeter
Kundalini Yoga consists of active and passive asana-based kriyas, pranayama, and meditations which target the whole body system (nervous system, glands, mental faculties, chakras) to develop awareness, consciousness and spiritual strength.
Kundalini Yoga, at its highest form, is practiced for the purpose of attaining bliss, opening the heart center, developing power, serving others, attaining self-realization and ultimately merging into God consciousness.
What to expect in a Kundalini Yoga class
In Kundalini yoga, there are set sequences of physical exercises called ‘kriyas.’ Each sequence combines, breath, posture and movement in order to work on specific areas of the physical, emotional and spiritual nature of the practitioner. Some Kriyas focus on loosening the spine and others focus on released repressed emotions. Kundalini Yoga also incorporates elements of mantra, music and meditation.
